Chat Transcript December 19th
Chad: Thanks for checking out my chat. It's just one of the many cool things I have planned for you guys this season, so make sure you stay tuned.
Chad: I'm sorry about the loss last night, but we'll come through next Sunday.
jamesj: Chad my wife is a huge Bengals fan and you are making it hard for me in this house, we even named our daughter after you C. Johnson and can't find any jerseys in her size what do you suggest??
Chad: What size does she wear?
marvin_harrison: How are u similar to Marvin Harrison on and off the field?
Chad: We are two completely different people altogether, on and off the field.
netsfan00: Chad, I am a big fan of you, what is a typical day like during the NFL season for you?
Chad: A typical day. Get up at 6 in the morning, meetings start at 9:00, practices at 1 and then post-practice meetings are at 5. So, it's a full day.
chris_d_: Chad, do you like collecting anything like shoes or jerseys in your time away from the NFL?
Chad: No, I've never been a real big collector of anything.
Dtrub: Marriage in the near future?
Chad: When I find the right one, maybe.
DaddyCincinnati: What happened to the orange chinstrap? I liked it.
Chad: I'm wearing it again for the Pittsburgh game. I got fined for it against Baltimore.
Ryan_Pags: Hey Chad, if you were one on one with DeAngelo Hall on a Hail Mary, how many times out of ten would you beat him?
Chad: 11 out of 11! That's a good question!
Dtrub: New Year Resolution?
Chad: Come back better than ever.
NastyLan: Will I be able to buy my son some of your new shoes at Foot Locker?
Chad: I hope so, I hope Reebok picks that up and starts making those.
dolan: How will you and the rest of the Bengals go into the next two games knowing you guys need to play well for a wild card?
Chad: We'll be going into the next two games hungry. Trust and believe. You won't see a performance like last night again.
BRANDON_J_W: When you score a td, how do u feel?
Chad: It's one of the best feelings in the world. Sort of like a sense of relief.
dolan: How must you yourself play to win the last two games of the season?
Chad: I have to play very well. A lot better than what I played last night.
Dtrub: Have you been able to make any true friends here in Cincy...outside of the team?
Chad: Oh yeah. As a matter of fact, I have one friend I'm always with outside of football.
crewe9: Have you ever gone into a game thinking you were absolutely going to win, but then lost?
Chad: Yeah, of course, because you go into every game thinking that you're going to win.
C_J__Bennett_Who_Dey : Besides being in the NFL, what do you consider your biggest accomplishment?
Chad: This is a big one right here: staying out of trouble. That's the perfect answer!
Vikings_Fan: Why did you stop rocking the mohawk?
Chad: I lost a bet against DeAngelo Hall during the Atlanta game.
Daniel: How long do you study your routes to be prepared for an upcoming game?
Chad: The entire week.
arjay: How did it feel to take the national stage on Monday Night Football last night?
Chad: It was cool. Everything was fine, until we got behind.
runnerbabe: You took a huge risk last night with the shoes - was that your idea?
Chad: Yeah.
cincycincy: I really thought you guys were going to pull off a win over the Colts, what went wrong?
Chad: I'm not sure what went wrong. But we didn't win. The 24 hour rule is in effect, so that game is over now.
subfloor: Why were you and Palmer having such a hard time connecting? Was it your O line?
Chad: It was just one of those games. We've been perfect for almost a month and a half. Of all the nights for us to be off, it happened last night.
jets4life: Is it hard knowing your the best ?
Chad: No, not at all. I'm not the best yet.
Chadsgoldteeth: TO is one of D.hall's role models, how would you react if a role model of yours ever did something like that to you?
Chad: I don't know how I would react.
shaykivlen_com: What's the worst team you have ever played
Chad: Any team can win on any given Sunday. So there is no worst team.
Saints_Fan_613: Chad, how are you going to handle the top CB in the NFL in Champ Bailey covering your this week?
Chad: The same way I handled him two years ago.
jimmy_allen_cox: What college players do you think have the best potential in the nfl?
Chad: I really don't watch college football that much anymore. So, I'm not sure.
C_J__Bennett_Who_Dey : Is there any place you hang out with fellow fans?
Chad: McDonald's.
Saints_Fan_613Do you trade jerseys with your opponents like they do after soccer matches?
Chad: No, we don't. If we trade jerseys, they make us pay for them. That sucks.
Brushfyre: Chad, you've had your share of words with DeAngelo Hall. Do you think he runs his mouth too much?
Chad: No, he's a very good friend of mine and one of the best in the game. He has a right to talk.
LeMarcBre: What's your ringtone right now?
Chad: Jay Z, Show Me What You Got.
GoOCinco: Hey Chad how do u decide when a TD dance is necessary?
Chad: Depending on the score of the game and whether we're winning or losing.
yo: What did the NFL tell you about the shoes you wore in warmup yesterday
Chad: That if I wore them on the playing field that I would be taken out of the game until I removed the shoes.
b2theizzo: Who is your best friend on the team?
Chad: I'm best friends with everybody, but the closest person is probably TJ.
b2theizzo: Did you get more girls with the blonde mohawk?
Chad: No, not at all.
dolan: How pumped are you about going to Hawaii?
Chad: It's getting very, very repetitive, I'm really not that excited. I'm more focused on getting to Miami this year and playing in the Super Bowl.
Luke85: What's up with the cramping so often? Not enough fluids?
Chad: Yeah, not enough fluids.
LongArmoftheLaw: How have you approached your teammates with all the off field incidents this year?
Chad: Those situations I let the coach handle, but if they ever needed my advice on anything I'd be there for them. But it's really not my place to be trying to counsel anyone when I'm not perfect myself.
b2theizzo: Chad what can you bench press?
Chad: 325 pounds.
downwithdenver: Denver has become an 'all or nothing' game in order for you to have a shot at the playoffs. How are you going to get ready for that game?
Chad: Work hard. Work hard, like I do every week.
Vikings_Fan: A lot of people say that you've calmed down your pre-game talk in recent weeks. Are you trying to go humble on us?
Chad: Never! Humble is for the birds.
cyler: What's the attitude in the locker room right now?
Chad: I haven't been in the locker room. We had the day off today.
inarqua: How do you feel about the continued disciplinary problems with your teammates? Why does this keep happening?
Chad: I don't know. All I can do is control what Chad Johnson does on and off the field.
Ashley: Do you still like you nickname Ocho Cinco?
Chad: Yes. As a matter of fact, I'm going to change it on my birth certificate.
Leyshawn: Are you going to personally change anything going into the Denver game?
Chad: No. I don't need to do any extra and I don't need to do any less. Just stay consistent at what I do, and I'll be fine.
Brushfyre: Congrats on the Pro Bowl selection. Do you feel that the players should be able to vote on the location every year?
Chad: No, the location we're at is perfect.
reeze: What's your favorite memory of high school?
Chad: Good question. I can't even remember high school, it's a long time ago.
kim: I noticed in one of your previous chats that you had a girlfriend. Is she your soul mate or are you still looking?
Chad: I don't have a girlfriend, I'm not sure what chat that was.
Vikings_Fan: Here is a tough one... what would you rather have...Hall of Fame... or a Super Bowl?
Chad: Super Bowl. That's not a hard question at all, that was easy.
jets4life: You ever brag to Keyshawn about who's better?
Chad: No, never.
superfan: If you could, would you rather be able to fly, or breathe underwater? Any other special powers you'd like?
Chad: I'd rather fly.
DaddyCincinnati: Where did you learn to handle the soccer ball like you did last night?
Chad: Soccer is my first love, then comes football. One of my best friends is Thierry Henry.
emrich: What three adjectives would you use to best describe you?
Chad: Risky, daring and hard working.
Meesh: Is it beginning to feel like Christmas? What do you want from Santa?
Chad: All I want Santa is to bring me the Super Bowl. That'd be fine.
saxglam: Is there a nickname your close friends or family calls you?
Chad: No. Everybody pretty much say Ocho Cinco now.
cutter: Any predictions for the game next week at Denver - are you playing like it's do or die?
Chad: Yeah, I play every game like it's do or die.
abstract: Does it hurt to not be able to spend holiday time with family?
Chad: Oh my goodness, yes, it does. That's the price you pay for being in the NFL, though. We have to spend Christmas on the way back from there.
sumpinsmart: Have you ever thought about not celebrating a touchdown just to shock everyone?
Chad: I did that last year in tribute to Barry Sanders in Detroit.
b2theizzo: Chad what time do you go to bed?
Chad: It depends if I'm losing at Madden online.
Billy: Chad - seeing you out at Newport at the Levee this year was a dream come true for my son. It really meant the world to him to meet his idol at a cool event. What's it like to meet the fans that look up to so much like my son. Are you a role model?
Chad: Yeah, I am. It's cool to meet those whose lives I've changed sometimes.
cassie: Does coach Bratkowski improvise a different scheme for each week or have the calls seemed fairly consistent?
Chad: No, you always have to improvise, depending on what type of team you're playing.
downtowner: What is your favorite billboard of yourself in Cincinnati? I like the checklist one with your matchups downtown!!!
Chad: Yeah, that's the one I like, too. It's my favorite one.
canadianfan: You change your helmet quite often. Which do you prefer, the revolution or the schutt?
Chad: I like both of them.
CJrocks: Is your offense clicking right now?
Chad: Except last night. We're clicking, except last night.
Dtrub: What did you think about the Black and White event?
Chad: It was nice.
bengalsfaninwv: What's your favorite touchdown celebration?
Chad: The Riverdance, that's the best one.
Im_talking_to_Chad: Are u gonna do the sizzling bacon this Sunday?
Chad: Nah, they'd throw me out of the game.
meLv: How did it feel to kick the ball around before Monday Night Football last night?
Chad: It was fun, that's the way I warm up before every game.
Carlos: How old were you when you felt like you'd "made it?"
Chad: 21, when I got drafted.
Degree: Chad thanks for being here tonight to answer so many questions! Any final thoughts for your fans, before we have to wrap up?
Chad: I enjoyed chatting with everybody when I was able to. Enjoy the games we have left. I love you and stay blessed.
Chad: Thanks for chatting. Be sure to check the site for my updated blog and dates for the next chat. Hope to see you guys out at the game. Who dey!

Chat Transcript December 12th BACK TO TOP
Chad: Thanks for checking out my chat. It's just one of the many cool things I have planned for you guys this season, so make sure you stay tuned.
USCfan8: How did you come up with all your celebrations? Chad: Just being creative, that's it.
Melody:Thank you for spicing up football, but how do you feel about being fined for such stupid reasons? Chad: I haven't been fined this year except one time, so they have kind of given me a little leeway.
Pino: What did you do to prepare for the Oakland game, was the D as tough as you thought it would be? Chad: They were very good, and it's the reason why they're ranked #3 in the NFL. Even though we scored 27 points, they're a lot better team than what their record shows.
rhondeen: Was the Ravens game really the first time your grandmother has gotten to see you play since HS? What was that like for you? Chad: It was a great feeling. She doesn't like seeing the physical contact up close.
RBO: Another 100 yard day receiving! Is Carson better than last year or are you just that good? Chad: I'm just that good!
goBengals:So we know you're a risk taker, but what made you head-butt that Raven a couple weeks ago? Chad: He was talking too much trash.
Marshall: You are now #3 on the Bengals all time receiving yardage list, what risks are you gonna have to take to get to #1? Chad: It's really not a risk, I just have to continue working hard. Sacrifice, that's the risk. A lot of sacrifice.
Cincy: There's been a lot of criticism of the Bengals defense this year, how are your teammates feeling about being the first Cincinnati defense ever to go 7 quarters without allowing a point? Chad: They're feeling good, very confident right now. Hopefully, we can continue carrying that confidence into Monday night.
Lind:Will this team be in the playoffs? Who dey! What changes will you make since last year's playoff slide? Chad: Yeah, we will be in the playoffs. No changes will be made, we're going to stick with the same plans we've been doing.
angel: What do you love most about Paul Brown Stadium? Chad: The food that Aramark serves.
Jerome:Chad, I heard you on Dan Patrick today, cool interview. ...just wondering, do you like talking to the media? Chad: Yes, sometimes. But the key thing is to always remember the media isn't your friend. They'll talk good when you're doing well, but as soon as you mess up, they'll kill you.
pRiNcE: How are you going to spend the holidays this year? Chad: In Denver, playing the Broncos.
snowgal: What's your favorite part about winter in Cincinnati? You miss the heat of MIA? Chad: No, I like the cold for some strange reason.
Jimmycox12: Hey again Chad: )! Since u said u were talkin' to ur fans on xm thought I should talk as much as possible…I was wonderin' what's the show gonna be like for Monday…popcorn or a shocker? Chad: A little bit of both.
shroomy: What's your favorite Cincinnati 'specialty'? Skyline, Greaters, LarosasŠ? Chad: McDonald's!
Spiced: I read that you once mailed Pepto Bismol to Cleveland Brown's players before your big game, have you pulled other practical jokes on players you go up against? What's the best one? Any deodorant from your sponsor being sent to the Indy secondary? Chad: Sometimes. The Pepto Bismol was over the line, so I won't do anything like that again.
dad24under10:Why have you been so quiet, is it because you see Ray Lewis when you are trying to catch the ball? Chad: No, not at all. I've been talking.
LDD: You've had so many good ones, do you have a favorite end zone celebration? Chad: The Riverdance, that was a classic.
seelo: What's your biggest weakness on the field and off the field? Chad: On the field, I don't have a weakness. Off the field, I don't have a weakness either. If I did, I wouldn't say it. That'd be giving it away!
AnotherChad: I love the song on your website. Tell me about it! Chad: It's a little flavor before our Super Bowl run.
maginot:If you could change one thing in your life what would it be? Chad: I wish I'd be able to see my kids more often during the season.
aardvark:In your eyes, what does it take to be a leader? Chad: Someone that does everything the right way all of the time.
Libran:What do you do when you're bored in Cincy? Chad: I'm always online playing Madden Football on 360 Xbox. My online name is CJMohawk85
FOND: Do you have any hidden talents? Chad: No, I don't.
McChad: If a restaurant would name a menu item after you, what would it be, and what would it be called? Chad: That's a good question! I'm not sure. It'd be up to the restaurant owner.
raccy: How do you feel about the upcoming Indy game? Does it mean a lot to face off against Marvin Harrison, who you've told us you really respect? Chad: No, not really. I'm really just focused on making sure I do everything I can to make sure we come away with a win.
indigo: As a team, what's the biggest obstacle you guys are facing in the games you have left? What about you personally? Chad: Our biggest obstacle is we just have to be consistent. Being consistent as an offense is all we have to worry about.
Tatin: You're breakin' and setting records all over the place? Do you keep up with the numbers? How important is it to you to hold these records? Chad: It's not important at all. It's just through hard work, the records are being broken. So I guess that says a lot about the work I'm putting in.
LeShall: Is the pressure higher for Coach Lew and the team this year, opposed to last? Chad: No, there is no pressure. We're going out there and having fun, that's it.
paulo: If there is one element of your game that needs improvement, what would it be? Chad: Good question! My entire game as a whole. There is no one thing. My entire game can always improve.
Canbria: When you unveiled your Degree checklist in Newport, you promised the fans a huge season. What should the fans expect as the year comes to a close? Chad: My goodness, it's been a huge season thus far. What more do you want?
shay: If you could name a cheering section in your honor at PBS, what would it be? Chad: I'd name it Ocho Cinco's corner
carlton:Is Big Willie Anderson giving some intense speeches in the locker room? Have you stepped up with any pre or post game salutes to the team and are you a vocal team leader? Chad: No, any time I'm talking, I'm talking trash. I let Big Willie and the other players handle the vocal stuff. I just go out and lead by example.
sweatshirt: Have your kids had a chance to see you play live this year? Do you really understand the "celebrity" that you are? Chad: No, not really. They don't, it's kind of good. They think Dad's normal. Sometimes I have to feel normal. They have seen me play this year.
Sonny: Do you mind doing interviews with the media? Is there a certain sports reporter that sticks out that you enjoy talking with? Chad: No, I don't mind doing interviews at all. I like Jim Rome.
JT0851: What was your favorite NFL team when you were in high school Chad: The Dolphins, and actually they still are.
Hammertime80: Have you ever considered busting out some old MC Hammer moves after scoring a TD? Chad: No! All the stuff I do is original, never been done before moves.
whodey: I toured the locker room last night at the Kicks for Kids Christmas party. Who is the biggest slob in the locker room? I have my theory. Chad: I don't know, I'm not sure, I don't pay attention to the rest of the lockers except mine and the ones next to me. As long as they keep ours clean, it doesn't bring down our property value.
Jon:Do you think you guys will make the playoffs and if so how far do you think you will go? Chad: I think we're going to make the playoffs. And I think we're going to win the Super Bowl.
Danny_Dehner:Would you like to spend your whole career with the Bengals? I know I want you to. Chad: Yes, I would love to, but we all know the nature of the business.
whodey: Who is your roommate for away games? Chad: TJ
chadizmyhomeboi: Hey Chad...first I want to take the time out and say I am a big fan of yours. My question is, what are your holiday plans and who do you plan on spending it with? Chad: I'll be spending my holiday in Denver, because we play them the day before Christmas. Hopefully, Coach Lewis will give us Christmas off.
Jack: What's your next hair style going to be? Chad: I don't know, but if I do have one it won't be until next year.
cody_johnson: How many touchdowns do u think ull score? Chad: As many as Carson throws.
church: Who do you see Cincy going through this year to make the Super Bowl. and who do you think Cincy will face in the Super Bowl? Chad: I have no idea who's going to make it, the NFL is very crazy.
browns_4ever: Remember me?????????? I am the one with the bloody jersey in the front row of the dawg pound in Cleveland. Chad: Yeah, I do remember! Hello!
Daniel: How many td's will you have against the Colts? Chad: Again, as many as Carson throws.
james: If u didn't have Carson for a qb, who else would u want to have? Chad: It wouldn't matter. It wouldn't matter who the quarterback was, I would still get it done.
Tyler: Chad, I am writing an article for my schools journalism class about football rivalries. Who do you view as your biggest rival teams? Thanks a ton. Chad: The battle of Ohio!
Jimmycox12:What do u think bout the new celebration rule? Chad: I just enjoy myself without breaking the rules.
bibek_singh: Who do you think is the funniest guy in the team, not counting yourself. Chad: We have a lot of characters. Carson is pretty funny.
MollyMarshall: If you weren't a football player what would you be??? Chad: I'd be playing soccer somewhere in Europe.
Kristy85: Would you ever like to voice a cartoon? Chad: Yeah, that'd be cool!
Rick: A lot of people are picking the Bengals to win out, does that effect the psyche of the team? Chad: No, I'm really not paying any attention.
mikey:How long in the NFL do you wish to go? Chad: Til I'm 50, or until they just throw me out!
Double_H: You seem to have life in order. Do younger players like Chris Henry look to you for guidance outside of football? Chad: No, not really. I give my input, but everyone has to remember they're their own man.
alex9000:Will the RCA dome crowd affect the no-huddle offense next week? Chad: No. Playing in Iraq wouldn't effect our offense right now!
orngnblksince1970: Was the Charger loss the "final straw" that enabled the team to decide that "enough was enough" ? Chad: Yes, that was our turning point.
browns_4ever: Was Leigh Bodden the only guy you couldn't mark off your list? Chad: Leigh Bodden and Pittsburgh, the third week of the season.
andrealea21: What is your favorite receiving route to run? Chad: Really, all of them. I love all the routes.
matts: What is the best football game you have ever played in? Chad: I'm not sure, I've had so many. I really can't put my finger on one.
WhocanstopCJ85: What is your favorite jersey? Chad: The new Washington Wizards jersey.
Carson_johnson: Who is your most hated team in the NFL? Chad: I don't hate anybody.
brasknucs: What did you think of the Chad Vader that has been appearing at the games? Chad: That's tight! I like it! That might be the best costume this season.
whodey_420: What do you think of all the arrests this year? Chad: They're just unfortunate incidents that we will overcome. I'm not really worried about it.
HALO_God4: What other sports do you like to pay attention to? Chad: Soccer is probably the only other sport I pay attention to.
Jon: What has been your greatest football moment in your life? Chad: Getting drafted.
david: How does it feel to be in the same company as Jerry Rice? Chad: It feels good, but I don't want to stop there. I want to set the standard for what it is to be great.
trudo: How many points over 80 will be scored combined in the game Monday night? Chad: I don't know!
Lelia: How come the offensive coordinator doesn't throw you more short slants? Chad: They do throw those.
Kim: This is my first joining in on the chat. I just thought it was nice you do this. So what do you love most about being in Cincy? Chad: The people. It's a football town, and they're very supportive - winning or losing. They might be mad, but they still support you.
Jes-c: What's your favorite type of music and who is your favorite artist? Chad: I listen to all types of music. My favorite artist is Jay-Z
CanDoEasy: End zone dance: Chad uses a needle to deflate the ball while he appears to crush it in a bicep flex! Chad: No, don't like that one.
orngnblksince1970: You and T.J. seem to really complement each other, I don't consider him a #2 receiver, do you two look at each other as #1's? Chad: Yes, we both know we're #1 receivers.
chadizmyhomeboi: What do you think of the coincidence that we won 8 games and lost 5 (Ocho Cinco) and recently had our 8th arrest? What are your views about that? Chad: No. Nothing amusing about that at all.
jimbo: Hey Chad, my dad heard u on Dan Patrick. I'm a huge fan so I'm here. I'm 13 and I'm wonderin' what happened to the deer? Chad: It was a joke.
matts: What is your favorite movie? Chad: Harlem Nights.

Jacob_miller: What do you do after a big win? Chad: Sleep.
Eric: Will you please push over the Colts' little mascot after you score this week? Chad: If he's close enough, I'll do that!

Chat Transcript November 24th BACK TO TOP
Chad: Thanks for checking out my chat. It's just one of the many cool things I have planned for you guys this season, so make sure you stay tuned.
mangan: Do you feel redeemed after scoring 5 touchdowns in two games? Chad: Somewhat redeemed.
cardo: Any special skills you've yet to showcase during your touchdown celebrations? Chad: No, I'm going to keep the celebrations mild until we go on a winning streak.
Jerome: How did it feel to break the Bengals receiving yardage record? Chad: It was cool, but losing that day kind of dampened the record.
deshee: Did you do anything special during the Thanksgiving holiday? Chad: No, nothing special except practiced that morning and ate later.
Indigo: What are you thankful for this year? Chad: For one: life, life being the most important thing. And then my family second.
5luva: How does it feel coming off the last 2 weeks Chad: It feels okay. I'm not too sad, not too happy, kind of in between. I won't be happy until we go on a winning streak.
cj4life: Chad, given the current standings, are you going to root for the Steelers to win on Sunday? Chad: Yes, I sure am.
Ocho_Cinco_85: Chad do you have a special celebration for Joey and the Steelers in your rematch at home? Chad: No, not yet. You're thinking ahead too far. I have to deal with Cleveland first.
5luva: Are you going to keep your head shaved? Chad: Yes. After I lost the bet with DeAngelo, I can't grow it back.
stev0: How does it feel to have two great games? Chad: It feels good.
MohawkMan: Congrats! You're back on top of the AFC receiving yards list - what has made the difference in your play the past two games? Chad: I don't know, I really can't put my finger on it. But I've approached every week with the same type of preparation. It seems the past few weeks everything has just opened up for us offensively.
leeah: There's a lot of pressure to re-claim a winning record. How do you feel about the criticism of the Bengals these days? If you were a fan would you be upset? Chad: If I was a fan, of course I'd be upset. Being a player with the expectations that we had coming into the season, we criticize ourselves more than they do on our side.
Chris: What did you feast on yesterday? Chad: McDonald's.
loudshirt: If you could have any super power what would it be? Chad: Being able to fly at any given time.
Oscar: How many TDs will you get next game? Chad: I have no idea. Hopefully I can go on a streak of two every game from now on.
dali: If you could meet one person in the world, who would it be? Chad: Bill Clinton.
Benj: There is all this buzz about a 'new Chad', (based on your tame TD celebrations and post-game attitudes). From your point of view, why are people saying that? Is it true, have you lost your risk appeal? Chad: No, I don't know what they're talking about. Coach Lewis started that I don't know where he got it from. But it's still the same old Chad.
dali: Why do you want to meet Bill Clinton? Chad: I don't know, I like him. He's the best president we ever had. I just want to meet him for some reason.
Mr_Pure: Who do you think would win in a wrestling match: Carson Palmer or Charlie Frye? Chad: Carson; he's a lot stronger.
yardwork: You are on pace to break the yardage record you set last year, how are you staying focused and how much does it mean to you to beat your past records? Chad: I just don't think about it. If I break it, I break it. It's a good thing, but you can't think about that stuff. You just have to go out and play.
CLewis: What does being a "team player" mean to you? Chad: Doing everything within the team. Basically, it's doing your job.
Floridian: If you could visit anywhere in the world where would it be? Chad: I'd like to go to Africa.
Jerome: What is your favorite musician? Chad: Right now it's Robin Thicke.
Michael: You seem to be using more subtle sarcasm lately with the press, who is your comedic inspiration? Chad: Chad. I'm my own inspiration! I can't be too harsh with my comments right now because we're not winning like we should. I'm throwing in a little comedy here and there.
cj4life: With the tough schedule that we have to end the season, do you think that it is possible for the Bengals to win out, given that we have games at Indy and Denver left? Chad: Yes, we have a great chance at it. All we have to do is just play great football toward the end of the season. We just have to play great football right now and we'll be fine.
HTHawk: What did you do differently to improve upon your slower start this year? Chad: I didn't do anything differently. I just had to wait for my opportunity to come. I always start the season slow for some reason every year.
whodey: Tell us about your bulldogs? Do they stay with you in Cinci? Chad: No, Popeye and Brutus are in Miami at my grandma's house. I should get a girl and name her Olive Oyl!
miked: Who do you think is giving you a run for best receiver in the league? Chad: I have no idea, I haven't looked at any stats so I don't know who is doing what. I'm just focusing on doing my job and helping us win.
Chris: Do you have a woman these days?
Chad: Yeah.
ONE-FIVE_Baby: Chad I want to be in the NFL one day and I know speed plays a big part, so do you know the keys to getting faster?
Chad: No, just continue to work on it and you'll be all right.
sean: What's your favorite college football team?
Chad: University of Miami.
Anquan_Boldin: Who is the best wide out except you?
Chad: Everybody's good, I can't name them all.

Chad: My appeal isn't for another two weeks.
Steve_Smith: How many yards will you get in the end of the season?
Chad: I don't know, I have no idea.
closeshave: Do you miss the Mohawk? Any other special hair styles fans should look out from you this season?
Chad: Not this season, probably next year there will be something else.
Ocho_Cinco_85: Chad I heard you had something really special for the dog pound this week. Are you actually going into the pound? After you score a TD?
Chad: Yeah, hopefully if I do score I'll be jumping into the pound. I'm waiting on them to toss me back out.
sinart: What's up next for TD celebrations? Are you out of ideas?
Chad: I don't know, I can't give it away. I can't tell you.
granite: What's it gonna take to get your team to the playoffs?
Chad: Mistake-free football.
bookbabe: Where you going to do your holiday shopping this year?
Chad: I have no time to holiday shop at all.
ecliner: What are your New Year's resolutions going to be?
Chad: I have no idea yet, I haven't put any thought into it yet.
Checker: You been using your Degree checklist?
Chad: Of course! Of course I have.
Zel: Would you want to play on the same team as TO, I know you're close friends?
Chad: Yeah, it would be fun.
colin_rowe: Chad what would you recommend for Christmas?
Chad: I don't need anything, I'm fine.
Sanjay: Who is the best corner you've ever gone up against? How bout the best coverage you've seen this season?
Chad: All the coverages have been different so there really is no best corner. No one ever covers me one-on-one.
piffle: I hear Neon Deion is giving you inspiration for your TD celebrations, what's he been telling ya?
Chad: No, he doesn't give me inspirations for touchdown celebrations. Somebody's wrong about that one.
littleleaguer: There's a lot of criticism about players placing blame on each other for the recent losses, how is Marvin as a motivator?
Chad: He's good. He's a player's coach.
Jerome: Does trash talking ever get in your head?
Chad: No, I do the trash talk, it can't get in my head.
lanai: Who is your team leader that's the voice of the locker room?
Chad: Willie Anderson.
Degree: Chad, thanks for spending time answering everyone's questions tonight! We're almost out of time - any last comments, before we have to wrap up?
Chad: I love you! Happy Holidays! Enjoy the game on Sunday. Thanks for chatting. Be sure to check the site for my updated blog and dates for the next chat. Hope to see you guys out at the game. Who dey!

Chad: None, none at all. Hold on a minute, folks, Coach is calling me on the phone!
Brandon: Is there good team chemistry because there was a lot of people yellin' at each other on the sideline.
Chad: Offensively we're fine. We're really not yelling at one another. It's more just trying to pick one another up. And that's just the way we do it.
MDevine: How did it feel to finally get some action during the game on Sunday?
Chad: It was fun. I enjoyed it. Hopefully, we'll probably go on a roll as a team as we continue to go into this last stretch toward the end of the season.

Benj: What are your thoughts on the Tiki Barber retirement news? Now there's a player that shies away from risks, unlike you.
Chad: I guess he feels he's had enough.
mscjohnoson: How many marriage proposals have you had cause you are so fine!!!
Chad: None at all.
tash26: Why did you choose to go to school in Oregon as opposed to staying closer to home?
Chad: I didn't have very many choices

Chad: No, not really, but trash talking works.

Chad: Very smart question. Every celebration is always a theme depending on where I'm playing. I'm going to have a special one for Baltimore.

Chad: Because I'm the biggest risk taker there is.
parkerc: What's the most important thing to you in your life?
Chad: My family.

Chad: Yeah, I had to shave the Mohawk, that was the bet.
mdevine: How you feel about us fans starting a petition so you don't get fined anymore?
Chad: I like that! I'm going to need it, because the fun is getting ready to start.
Rocha: What kept the Bengals from beating the Falcons on Sunday? Do you think Mike Vick is really one of the league's top QBs?
Chad: Yeah, he's one of the league's top QBs. We lost because we weren't consistent enough on offense.
Linda_C_: Would you ever be on "Dancing With the Stars?"
Chad: Yes, I would. That would be fun.
WHodey: DO you think that the Ravens could end up being a bigger rival than the Steelers?
Chad: I don't know, that rivalry is just about even.
mish: What are your thoughts as you head into Baltimore and face one of the league's best D's on Sunday?

Benji: Have you started your Christmas shopping yet?
Chad: No, not yet.
tylerIL: Are you still maintaining your checklist? How's it shaping up this season?
Chad: It's going good so far, except my one loss in week 2 against Pittsburg.
PumpIron: Is it tough to maintain 110% energy for a full 16 game season? Anything you do to rejuvenate yourself if you hit a wall?
Chad: No, just keep working hard at what you're doing.
NTB: Carson's looking timid and I think the offensive line's not holding ground for him - is there anything you can do with the QB or receiver coach to increase the quick slants?
Chad: Yeah, there are things we can do. But I don't think it's time to panic right now.
Mikey: Why the Riverdance against the Bears in Chicago?
Chad: I think the Riverdance performers might have been in town when I did it that weekend.
steveo: Chad will you please offer the O-line a Rolex watch for Christmas if they will block well for the rest of the year?
Chad: Very funny!
Linda_C_: What is the favorite food your grandmother makes for you?
Chad: Breakfast. One of my favorite meals is Cream of Wheat. She makes the best Cream of Wheat ever.
Chadsastar: The Sports Illustrated story was great! Has your work with brands like Reebok and Degree deodorant helped raise your profile and make you a well-recognized athlete? Or would you only credit your on-field performance for your stardom?
Chad: My onfield performance has the most to do with it. But things like Reebok and Degree have also helped it.
Sam: How does Marvin's Baltimore D coordinator experience help the offence during preparation?
Chad: I don't even know if they still run the same defense they did when Marvin was there, that was a long time ago.
justin29: If you could have any Quarterback of all time throwing you a touchdown who would it be?
Chad: Dan Marino, that would have been cool.
Sam: Which team impresses you most so far this season?

Chad: I suck my fingers, nobody knows that.
RavenousRaven52:Chad do you like to have conversations pre-game with other teams' fans in their stadiums? You're bound to get them laughing by saying something comical! Ever thought about being a comedian after football?
Chad: No comedy or comedian, but I do talk to the fans in stadiums.
Brandon: What was your favorite costume as a kid?
Chad: Being Jason from Friday the 13th.
tash26: What are your plans for the off season?
Chad: Rest!

Chad: No, all three of those take too long.
TDCJ: Have any children come to your house for trick or treating tonight?
Chad: No.
Sam: Do you think that trash talking helps trick or treat?
Chad: It's all in the fun of the game, that's all.

Chad: DeAngelo Hall will fall!
meghmers: Have you ever thought about doing movies?
Chad: Yes, I'll be in Hollywood when the season is over.
xanman: What was your favorite gift from your birthday this year?
Chad: My pet Rottweiler.
todddd: If you could date anyone in the whole world, who would you choose? Celebrities included!
Chad: Oprah Winfrey.
samanthawf: How old were you when you first started playing football?
Chad: 4 years old.
sjylarm: What do you think about having cheerleaders at football games? Do they distract the crowd or help the team?
Chad: I think they distract the crowd, but the players don't pay them any mind during the game.
abc123: What is a typical night out like for you? What do you do?
Chad: My only night out is on Tuesday's and I go enjoy the comedy show down in Newport, Kentucky.
heyworth: Who is your favorite celebrity?
Chad: Edward Norton, Al Pacino, and Robert DeNiro.
Will: Chad, great catch and game against the Panthers, we really needed that...also, the SI Cover is awesome. My question is about how you said this Wednesday you are going to come out of your cocoon and start having fun again... what do you have planned for the media and your buddy DeAngelo Hall? WHO DEY!
Chad: This is going to be so good this week that the game needs to be put on Pay Per View.
Bonnie: Is it hard to maintain friendships with players you go up against every week? I heard you went to dinner with Smith Sat. night b4 the big game on Sunday.
Chad: No, it's not hard, especially when those players play on the same side of the ball as you.
Drew: How great does it feel to win a close game like that against the panthers after you lost a heart breaker to the Bucs
Chad: Our backs were up against a wall. To win a game like that was like a breath of fresh air. It's like a new start for us.
tabbycat: Any big Halloween plans?!?
Chad: I don't know. It might be part of my celebration, you never know. I'll be chatting here next week on Halloween, too.
Whitney: How is your shoulder feeling?
Chad: It's almost back, I'm about 80 percent right now. By the time Sunday comes. I should be at 100.
Whitney: I saw the preview of the GQ magazine pic, I must say, looking VERY good Chad!! :)
Chad: Thank you. That's what the steroids do. ;-)
Justin_G-Man: Who is your favorite college team?
Chad: University of Miami.
AgentAgent: How do you stop 85?
Chad: By not throwing him the ball.
samuel: Do you admire Marvin Harrison
Chad: Most definitely.
Bonnie: What's the coolest thing a fan has done for you?
Chad: At one of my book signings, someone brought me McDonald's.
elaine: Do you draw from inner-confidence to allow you to put up your competition on a checklist?
Chad: Yes, I sure do. It gets better this week.
footballfan: Chad in the AFC North right now who do you think would be the team that is most likely to give you guys a run for your money, the Ravens or the Steelers, and why?
Chad: Probably neither one of them. By the time we get to the Ravens and Pittsburgh games we will be clicking as an offense.
Bogginred: Who in the locker room is the toughest person who faced in Madden? And do you always play as the Bengals? If not who is your second favorite?
Chad: I never played as the Bengals, I always use the Miami Dolphins. The best person there is Houshyomama.
blaster: I can tell Coach Lewis is serious about winning, will he make you guys work harder now that you're on a two-game slide?
Chad: We're working as hard as we can already. Nothing has changed.
rajeev: Are you pissed you've only scored one touchdown this season so far?
Chad: Of course not. We have 11 more weeks to go and I will get double digit touchdowns this year.
Soccerguy: I know you're a pro-bowler, are teams doubling you up or something? Does having Henry out affect the way defenses are guarding you guys?
Chad: No, it doesn't matter what they do defensively. My time and my opportunities will come.
pato: What do you think of the recent violence in football - the Miami, Florida International brawl and Albert Haynesworth of the Titans? This shouldn't belong in football. Have you ever been around that in a game before?
Chad: I've never really been around it before, but they're unfortunate incidents when things go wrong. You get caught in the emotions of the game.
farfar: As a fan, the wait between games is sometimes unbearable. What is it like as a player, especially when you have no injury or soreness you're trying to heal and you just want to go out and play?
Chad: In between games is like going to school. You have a lot of studying to do before that next opponent. So the time in between games is really needed.
sorethumb: What's up with TJ's pressed ponytail?
Chad: I have no idea.
Miamimama: What would be your ideal vacation spot?
Chad: Brazil. Anywhere in Brazil.
shady: Do you have any 'toys' at home - speed boats, fancy cars, plasma TVs, arcade rooms?
Chad: Yes, all of the above.
slayerized: Chad, do u fear Ray Lewis??
Chad: No, Ray Lewis fears me.
Sara: Based on your book, you never had it easy. What helped you to build such confidence? Also what helped you to be successful?
Chad: What helped me be successful was my determination and being young. Right now, the fear of failure is what's keeping me in my game.
carson: Have you always lived to be a risk taker in all that you do?
Chad: Yeah, always. It's the way I grew up and the way I'll always be.
BlancaT: Who is your favorite musical group?
Chad: Right now I don't have one.
Drew: What's the toughest stadium you've played in?
Chad: At home. It seems like the road games are easier because it's more of a challenge.
Whitney: How often do you get to talk with your family?
Chad: Every day.
Caranci: If you could choose, would you eat the best steak or the best burger? After all, both have protein for muscle building!
Chad: Best burger. McDonald's!
happy: Have you found other ways to be creative on the field since celebrations are at a minimum?
Chad: The celebrations start this Sunday. I'm coming out of my shell.
anjean: What do you like to wear when hitting the town or just chilling at home or wherever?
Chad: Anything with the Reebok label on it is fine with me.
DeShel: You have a history of fantastic celebrations, and it has just been ruled that you can no longer do any sort of celebration in the end zone with props - how do you feel about that?
Chad: It's not going to stop the shows.
Justin_G-Man: What are some of the community service things that you regularly do?
Chad: On my time off I visit hospitals, and work with kids.
Pammie: Why is this week's game against DeAngelo Hall so special for you?
Chad: It's so special because he's self proclaimed himself as the best defensive back in the game. Therefore, when I embarrass him this week. I will self proclaim myself the best receiver in the game.
sEwElL: What's your all-time favorite Halloween costume? Are you dressing up this year?
Chad: My all-time favorite is Shrek. I'm going to be Shrek for Halloween.

Chad: No, not really.
pala: Do you have a good luck charm?
Chad: McDonald's.
desiree: What are some of the daily risks you take?
Chad: Putting myself on a limb approaching each week's game by leaving the opposing team bulletin board material. Which I call trash talk.
DRA: What do you do to overcome the mental pressure of being targeted on the field?
Chad: There is no such thing as pressure. I've been a target since I was 4 years old.
Nacio: At what point in your career did you know you were going to "make it"?
Chad: Good question, let me think about that one.
Chris: How many touchdown dance suggestions do you receive weekly? I love The Puff, when will we see it?

fulldevilhakysac: Have u seen those real dollar bills on eBay that have your face imposed over George Washington's? If not, can I bring one to training camp for u to sign?
Chad: Yeah, bring one to training camp. I haven't seem them.
happy: How do you rejuvenate yourself after a game?
Chad: Roller skating.
JokerDude: Has anyone ever pulled a prank on you in the locker room?
Chad: No, I do the prank pulling.

Chat Transcript October 17th BACK TO TOP
Chad: Thanks for checking out my chat. It's just one of the many cool things I have planned for you guys this season, so make sure you stay tuned.
the_2_joes: Who is the toughest cornerback you have ever faced?
Chad: Nobody.
marco: What does it mean to play against one of your best friends in the league, Steve Smith? Are you going to be extra hungry to face off against him?
Chad: Yeah. I talked to him today for about an hour about the game this Sunday. We both can't wait.
RicoG: How often do you have to shave your hair to keep the Mohawk look?
Chad: Every Saturday.
THEREV81: Are you and Terrell Owens friends?
Chad: Yeah, we talk every day also.
englewood85: Dear 85, when you burn D. Hall are you gonna dance like 'Primetime"? ('Cause I want to see it.)
Chad: That's exactly the celebration that would fit perfectly after scoring on him.
engelj: Do you think people are overreacting to the 3-2 record when other good teams have similar records?
Chad: Yeah, the reason people are overreacting is because so much is expected of us after coming off an 11-5 season. And after winning the division, we're not expected to be 3-2.
engelj: How much have injuries affected the team's play?
Chad: In a way you can make an excuse about injuries, but it's something that all 32 teams deal with and we can't use injuries as a crutch or a reason why we're not winning.
squirtweed: Hey Chad, how does the offensive line play in getting you the "long ball"?
Chad: The line has to protect Carson so he's allowed to throw the long ball.
engelj: Do you try to be a positive influence on teammates like Chris Henry?
Chad: Yes, I try to be. I tell them the wrong and the right of playing the game.
tectonix: Have you talked with T.O. about being doubled and tripled, seems like he's going through the same thing, and like Houshmanzadeh and Henry, Glenn is getting a lot of balls thrown his way. How does T.O. feel about it, and what advice does he give to you?
Chad: We feel the same way, the funny thing about the situation is that that this is nothing new. We've always been double and triple teamed but our organization has always found a way to get us the ball. We talk about being patient. Like TO this weekend had 3 touchdowns. Very soon, my time is coming too.
DaddyCincinnati: Is there something special you do after a tough loss to get your head straight, or do you just shake it off?
Chad: I don't do anything special but there's a 24 hour period where you think about everything you did right and everything you did wrong. After that 24 hour period, you let the last game go.
Whitney: What do you think is the biggest misconception about you, Chad?
Chad: That I'm arrogant.
Matt: Is the loss of Chris Henry bigger than everyone thought? I feel he has Randy Moss type qualities and could be huge for this offense. What are your thoughts about his services.
Chad: He's exactly like Randy Moss, high speed, and a huge huge plus for this offense. He's going to make it a lot easier for myself and Rudy. Having him in there makes it easier for the offense.
turk: R u married or playin' the field? lol
Chad: I'm single and the only field I play is on Sundays.
richie: HOW DID YOU SPEND YOUR OFF DAY TODAY?
Chad: Getting treatment on my shoulder because it's messed up.
WandaC: Do you use Degree?
Chad: Of course, Wanda.
Spiiin: What was the toughest part of the loss to the Bucs?
Chad: Putting up 13 points. There's no reason to be scoring 13 points a game when we averaged almost 28 points a game last year.
Nestor: What are you guys going to do to get ready for the Panthers?
Chad: I won't know until we put the game plan in tomorrow.
Risky: Do you consider yourself a risk taker?
Chad: Every time I open my mouth!
brazilia: Where does your inspiration come from for your touchdown celebrations?
Chad: Just wanting to be the best. Touchdown celebrations I just think of things that are very creative that won't get me in trouble.
the_2_joes: Hey Chad who is the toughest hitter in the NFL?
Chad: Ray Lewis.
the_2_joes: Who inspired u to play football?
Chad: It was either soccer or football. Football was the way I had to go.
BDD: What is more important - personal stats or winning a Super Bowl?
Chad: Super Bowl. I'll take a Super Bowl any day.
MickeyD: What is your favorite thing to cook at home?
Chad: I don't cook, I go to McDonald's.
adam: Do you think you are the best receiver in the game?
Chad: Of course.
Bogginred: What made you decide you wanted number 85 on your jersey?
Chad: That was the only number available when I got here.
rocky: I've heard you love soccer - any chance you'd pursue an MLS career if you weren't in the NFL?
Chad: Probably not MLS, but I'd probably be in Europe playing for one of the pro teams out there.
ChadRox: Was it hard to re-focus when Levi Jones and Rich Braham got injured? Do you think it will affect Carson?
Chad: It shouldn't. Teams have these types of injuries all the time and the backups are able to step in and play just as well.
Benny_Dojo: That Blonde in the NFL Replay commercial is hot, did you get to go on a date with her?
Chad: No.
readerj: What are you going to work on to get the offense going for next week?
Chad: Being precise in everything I do all week. That's all I can do.
bengalsdud9: What are you going to do this week in practice to make sure you have a breakout game on Sunday?
Chad: The same thing I do every week. Work hard, practice hard. But with three people on you, it's hard to have breakout games.
Benny_Dojo: I know Carson Palmer is a pocket passer, but how come we haven't see as many roll-outs and shotgun formations on 1st and 2nd down?
Chad: I've been asking myself the same question.
Sam: How many single coverage did you get Sunday against Tampa Bay?
Chad: 4 plays, I actually caught 4 of those balls.
WhoDeyLori: When are you going to get on Dancing with the Stars? You would be amazing!
Chad: I would, I just don't have the time right now.
dshawn: Consistency of starters at the offensive line position, and in some ways the entire offense has been an issue this season, how are you going to try to fix that?
Chad: I don't have an answer for the offensive line. All I can control is what I do at Wide Receiver. That's a good question though.
Craig: Chad keep doing what your doing you will get yours! Are you looking forward to being on the field this Sunday with Steve Smith and Key? If you want to get ran in some Madden look me up!
Chad: I'm looking forward to playing both of them. It's been a long time since I've seen Steve and haven't seen Key in a couple years, since I played him when he was with Tampa.
Hammertime80: Hey Chad, what are your plans after retirement?
Chad: I'm going to be a stripper. ;-)
Joe: Chad, I have to say you have kept your cool about not getting as many balls as usual, and I think that is a testament to your professionalism and class. Keep it up. The kids need someone to look up to.
Chad: Thank you. It is very, very, very, very hard trying to keep my cool.
bstar: Who are the top 5 receivers in the league including yourself?
Chad: Marvin Harrison, Torry Holt, Terrell Owens, and Steve Smith.
cj85orlando: Hey Chad, who is the main person that you look to as a mentor now?
Chad: It's probably a 50/50 tie between Ray Lewis and Deion Sanders.
chayse: What is your fav CD right now?
Chad: P Diddy, it just came out today.
Hammertime80: Who was your favorite NBA player growing up?
Chad: Jordan, of course.
Andraes: I can tell you're frustrated, what are you going to do to get through it?
Chad: Keep my mouth shut and keep on working. That's all I can do.
Eightball15: What's the most recent movie you have seen in theaters and did you like it?
Chad: I haven't been to the movies in a while, but I need to go see Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning.
OnFieldSecurity: Nice interview with Rome. Who is your favorite reporter to talk to?
Chad: I like all of them.
goBengals: Did losing to the Bucs inspire the team?
Chad: I won't know until I see the way everyone is in practice tomorrow morning.
batman: How did you like midnight madness? Think UC will be any good this year or do they need 85's sweet jumper?
Chad: Nah, I'm sure they'll be fine. That wouldn't be good, because I can't shoot no jumper.
Blake: Of the rest of the games who are you looking forward to playing the most?
Chad: DeAngelo Hall, that's the only game I'm looking forward to.
flynnmd28: How will Chris Perry help the offense if he is activated this week?
Chad: Chris Perry is no different from a Reggie Bush.
gibbs12dotcom: Do you still have your pink Cadillac?
Chad: I don't know why everyone calls it a Cadillac. It's not a Cadillac, it's a 1971 Chevrolet Caprice. And of course I still have it.
jgross85: What is your game-day car?
Chad: The bus, it gives me enough time to think about what I need to do.
chris: Ever thought about doing the Rerun What's Happening pop lock dance after you score...with a puff of smoke of course?
Chad: No, because someone's already done that dance.
blondtoo: You're 3-2, and a long way to go, are your spirits up?
Chad: Of course.
Whitney: If you have an iPod, what songs are on it now?
Chad: Everything you could think of from rock to R&B to pop, and rock and roll. You name it, I got it.
bengalsdud9: You mentioned before you played soccer. Were you good enough to pursue it at all?
Chad: Of course the whole point is that I was young and I wasn't as good as I could be, but neither was I in football. But if I worked at it. I probably would have become a pro soccer player.
jgross85: If you could break one record in the NFL, what would it be?
Chad: Most Super Bowl appearances.
Degree: Chad, thanks for answering so many questions tonight! Any last comments, before we have to close?
Chad: To all the fans of 85, I love you. The celebration and the entertainment will continue very soon. I'll see you all next time.
Chad: Thanks for chatting. Be sure to check the site for my updated blog and dates for the next chat. Hope to see you guys out at the game. Who dey!

Chat Transcript October 3rd BACK TO TOP
Chad: Thanks for checking out my chat. It's just one of the many cool things I have planned for you guys this season, so make sure you stay tuned.
westernbowldudes: Can Shaq cover 85? Haha.
Chad: No, nuh uh!
peterd: How many burgers do you eat each week
Chad: 14.
LUDA: Chad, you are sponsored by Degree, and T.O. is sponsored by Right Guard. What's the best, what should I use?!?
Chad: Degree, it protects men who take risks.
GMD: Chad I think this great that you take time for the fans and chat with us...how often do you visit your own website and message board?
Chad: Every Tuesday, which is my only day off and when I have the most time.
xander: You played along Steve Smith at Santa Monica Junior College, who was the better WR?
Chad: Back then, we were both about even. There was a receiver by the name of Posey who was a little bit more polished than we were at that time.
megh: Out of your two cousins in the NFL (Keyshawn Johnson and Samari Rolle) who's the best player?
Chad: I am, of course!
LeMarcBre: Hey Chad, what did you think of Corey's Touchdown celebration last week?
Chad: It was a good one. It's funny how the fans threw it back out onto the field.
chadjohnsonfan8: Hey what is ur biggest piece of advice to making it to the NFL?
Chad: Hard work. That's it. Those are the only two words. Hard work.
westernbowldudes: What are you gonna do with your week off?
Chad: Rest and probably go watch Tampa Bay play this weekend.
wheex: What game do you think you had your best end zone dance
Chad: In Chicago, the River Dance
raymond: What do you think the risky play this season was?
Chad: So far there really hasn't been one.
westernbowldude: Would you put tiger stripes in your mohawk?
Chad: Yes, I would, but not right now.
Matt Chicago: Are you watching the season premiere of Friday Night Lights?
Chad: No.
Jareerah: What was the most disappointing thing about Sunday's loss?
Chad: To come out and play like that was bad, especially when you think you have a good game plan against a team at this point we should win.
ali: If you weren't playing football right now, what do you think you would have done with your life?
Chad: Probably in Europe playing soccer. Soccer is my first love. Then football.
Onerican21: What cornerback do you think has a shot of stopping you?
Chad: God hasn't created him yet!
loann: Do you really like living in Cinnci during season? Be honest.
Chad: Yes, I do. It's perfect! It's the perfect city to focus on my job and not have too much going on around me.
soccfan: Who were you rooting for in the world cup?
Chad: I was going for Brazil, and I was mad about them losing to France.
monsterMD: How is the shoulder holding up?
Chad: It's killing me right now. Badly. I'm glad I'm on my bye week.
ChadListMan: What was up with Corey Dillon trying to mock you...are you or were you guys friends?
Chad: He didn't do anything to mock me.
frenzied: Any special rating for the dance he tried to do?
Chad: The dance he tried to do was a dance that they do on the West Coast, and it's part of what they call Hyphee movement. That dance is done down in the Bay Area in Oakland.
LeMarcBre: I love the new Sportscenter commercial. Are you planning on doing that in a game? And when can we expect to see you starring in your first film?
Chad: As far as video games, I'm on the cover of NFL Street 3. My first film will probably be during the off season this year. It will be something I'll be pursuing at the end of my career. Acting.
rayray: You like Ronaldinho????
Chad: I love Ronaldinho. I love Zidane.
marquise: What treatment do you get for your shoulder, or for other injuries?
Chad: The treatment I get is stem and ice.
Matt Chicago: Do you feel you would win if you were in Dancing with the Stars?
Chad: Of course! Of course I would. With ease.
Onerican21: Is there going to be any more great celebrations this season?
Chad: Yes, they're coming soon. It's very early, it's only week 4. All the good celebrations will be coming week 8 and on.
ladydi: I know you love McDonalds, what do you usually order?
Chad: A No. 1, extra cheese, no onions and a Hi-C Orange with no ice.
tammi: How does your family feel about your success? Have they always supported what you do?
Chad: Yes. They've always supported what I do. They weren't always happy about some of the choices I made in life, but they did a good job of keeping me on track.
peterd: Any advice on staying fit like you?
Chad: Train five days out of the week. Take two days off.
GMD: How many TDs you aim to get against the Bucs? :)
Chad: Because of my slow start I need to score 3 touchdowns against the Bucs.
westernbowldudes:Is Baltimore the real deal this year?
Chad: No, they're not the real deal. I'll show you why they're not when we play them.
Big_D: Would you like to play your entire career in Cincinnati?
Chad: Yes. Always. One of the best things a player would love is to finish his career where he starts.
patjohnson: Better QB: Carson Palmer or Peyton Manning?
Chad: The only thing that Peyton has on Carson is NFL experience. That's it.
PRon: Do you think there was some learnings from that game that will make you guys stronger for the remaining parts of the season?
Chad: Yeah. Losing that game was more a positive than a negative, because now we can correct all the mistakes we made and make sure they're not made again.
misha: Were you impressed with the Pats defensive schemes, or they just played better on Sunday?
Chad: You know it's funny they played the same coverage the entire game.
LALen: Looks like Carson is holding up pretty well -- think he'll be good to go all season long?

chadjohnsonfan85: What is your favorite show-off that you have done?
Chad: My favorite was CPR.
ucbc: Is Chris Henry as good as you?
Chad: He's very good, but we're completely different types of receivers altogether We complement each other very well.
ucbc: Who dey think gonna cover Chad...seriously who is the best corner you have ever faced?
Chad: Everybody is good. The reason for my success is understanding each corner's weakness as I approach each week.
peterd: Who is your biggest idol / role model/
Chad: Oprah Winfrey.
seethrough: What did you think about your performance last week?
Chad: It wasn't good enough. As far as I'm concerned, no matter what I do on Sunday it won't be good enough for me because my standards are high.
westernbowldudes: When you score against Atlanta, will you do Primetime's dance?
Chad: No, I have a very special celebration for the Atlanta game. I can't give it away. You'll just have to wait and see.

peterd: Who's is next on the Degree checklist?
Chad: Ronde Barber.
Gridironer: Do you still have a regular practice schedule, or does Coach Lewis give you guys some leeway?
Chad: No such thing as leeway with Coach Lewis. We have the same schedule season long. It's not going to change anytime soon, especially after last week's performance.
PND: Do you think the bye weeks are important, or would you rather keep playing?
Chad: The bye week is very important, especially for us because we have so many injuries right now. It's a good way to get everyone healthy so we can go into the second half of the season better.
funtimes: How did you get hooked up with Degree?
Chad: My agent did all that.
MohawkRulz: What are your plans for the Bucs defense?

Chad: Nothing. He knows who had it first.
folderol: Saw you at Kroger last week -- what's your book called again?
Chad: I CAN'T BE STOPPED.
MSVITAK_03: Who do you think will win it all?
Chad: What kind of question is that? The Bengals, of course.
Najestic: See your old friend Steve Smith is coming up on the schedule. Any fond memories from JUCO with Steve?
Chad: No, not really. All memories are just football. That's it.
LeoRiccio: The Beavers are playing Washington State this week. Any favorite rivalries from when you played at Oregon State?
Chad: No, not really. I didn't get into the rivalry thing because I was there for such a short period of time.

Chat Transcript September 26th BACK TO TOP
Chad: Thanks for checking out my chat. It's just one of the many cool things I have planned for you guys this season, so make sure you stay tuned.
CeeZee: When did you unveil your checklist?
Chad: Two weeks ago, September 15.
Benny Dojo: What was your favorite NFL team growing up?
Chad: TheMiami Dolphins
CP crazyfly: Has anyone told you that you look like Wesley Snipes as Simon Pheonix in Demolition Man?
Chad: Yes, I get that from everywhere; keep hearing it.
CHAD man: How did your checklist start?
Chad: It started last year, I just thought it was a good way to challenge everybody. Instead of talking trash week after week, I made a checklist so week after week that'd be my way of talking to everybody. One stomp.
Go Bengals: What game on your schedule are you looking forward to most right now, and why?
Chad: Atlanta Falcons, October 29 because of D Hall.
darcelle: What's the beef you have with D'Angelo Hall?
Chad: Because he has self proclaimed himself the best cornerback in the NFL and he has not earned it.
fansgalore: Hi Chad! Can you tell us your pre-game routine?
Chad: Wake up in the morning, go to eat at McDonald's. I get to the stadium about 11:00. I get in the hot tub for 5 minutes, I get in the cold tub for 3 minutes, then I get back in the hot tub. I get a massage in the training room. Then about 12:00 I go out and run routes with Carson.
leenie: What player did you look up to when you were young?
Chad: The Marks Brothers - Mark Clayton and Mark Duper.
CarlJ: I read on your blog that you listen to Trick Daddy and Rick Ross - do you know them?
Chad: Yeah. I listen to them on my iPod while I'm running my routes with Carson.
IshaMae: Do you ever open your fan mail?
Chad: Yes, I do, when I have time. My time is very limited, but when I have time I go through it.
raoul: Did you get tired of doing all those ESPN interviews at Newport?
Chad: No, it was fine, part of the job.
go Chad: Is it true that there are billboards throughout Cincinnati with your checklist?
Chad: Yeah there are.
Diz: How did you feel about the Saints winning in their return to the Superdome?
Chad: It was a great thing for the city and organization. It was very important after Katrina last year. Because of their success early in the season it's only going to make it better for those down in that city.
CP crazyfly: Whats with the Mohawk, 85?
Chad: Just something different, just felt like doing it this year. That's all.
Patrick: Do numbers mean anything to you or is it all about winning the Super Bowl, because you only had 1 catch against the Steelers but it was obvious since you are a player that needs 2 to cover you it leaves your other team mates to be wide open most of the day.
Chad: It's fine. I think I've accomplished everything I could in my career. Right now, the most important thing is the Super Bowl.
Roosh0: What made you decide to get a Mohawk? And why gold?
Chad: The Mohawk? Just wanted to do something different. No one ever had a blonde one, so I went with a blonde one, to be different.
BENGALS FAN: Who are you closetest to in the NFL?
Chad: Ray Lewis, Terrell Owens, Deion Sanders, Steve Smith.
Brian Herriman: What's your favorite color?
Chad: Black.

Chad: Not really. It's a good thing, a good thing.
inferno2006: Should your fantasy owners be concerned that your production will decrease with Housh and Chris Henry healthy again?
Chad: I don't really pay attention to fantasy football, they can do whatever they want.
STEEL: I read that you gave someone a Mohawk at some event - is that really true?
Chad: Yeah, it was on my checklist, I cut a Mohawk.
Patrick: If you could have any player in the NFL from any other team on your team who would it be?
Chad: Ray Lewis would be nice.
Special Sauce: Do you really have McDonald's before every game like I read in your blog? How long have you been doing that?
Chad: I really do. Since my first year of high school.
laylana: Will you ever rock a headband on your neck like Deion?
Chad: You're not allowed, it's illegal now.
CoachTX: Are you friends with TJ Houshmandzadeh since you played in college and now in the pros with him?
Chad: Of course!
marvell: Do you consider LA or Miami home?
Chad: Where I was born and raised, Miami, Florida.
Daddy Cincinnati: Do you get your roll on at Skatetown USA in West Chester?
Chad: Yep, it's great exercise after a game.
Patrick: Who talks the best trash in the NFL?
Chad: Who else but me?
BLD: Are you nervous to face Ray Lewis on Nov 30 'cause you're good friends?
Chad: No, not at all. Actually, he's nervous about facing me!
Brian Herriman: Biggest obstacle you have overcome?
Chad: That's a good question! Off-the-field issues.
mike williams: What's up 85? You are the best wideout in the league. My question is how long do you think you'll have to play to be the best wideout ever?
Chad: I have to play until I'm 32 and break all the records.
Patrick: What are your favorite movies?
Chad: Right now, Braveheart
blogaholic: Do ya really write your own blog? How do you find time?
Chad: I do write it. I find time on Monday afternoon to write after I get out of meetings.
brad: Will you be going on THE HOWARD STERN SHOW again anytime soon?
Chad: Not right now, probably during the off season.
dstewart19: Hey Chad I just wanted to say thanks for everything you do. You are a class act! 7-11!
Chad: Thank you! I appreciate your support.
Brian Herriman: Old school or new school?
Chad: New.
jarhead: Who is supposed to be covering you in NE? Will he cover you?
Chad: It will probably do what Pittsburgh did and use 3 people.
Pasha: What is your favorite sneaker?
Chad: Reebok Ice Cream.
Daddy Cincinnati: Thank you 85, for being the spark that lit the fire! What do you like most about the city of Cincinnati?
Chad: The fans. And they've been supportive even when things were not going that well.
Chris: Who's your favorite pro athlete not in the NFL?
Chad: Kobe Bryant or LeBron.
JRF80: Do you kick it to any old Motown songs?
Chad: Yeah, I listen to a lot of old school music.
Geaux Saints: Do you really use the Degree for men deodorant? :-D
Chad: Yeah, of course!
zkw13: What color jersey combo do you prefer to wear on gameday, or does it matter?
Chad: I like to wear all black.
Matt: Did you have any additional endzone celebrations planned at the end of last season before the new rule was adopted? If so, could you describe your favorite?
Chad: No, I didn't.
Ty: D Hall, the matchup we all wanted. Are you gonna put on a show?
Chad: Of course! The matchup is going to be so good they might have to move the game to Pay Per View.
Geaux Saints: Hey 85, you see a Saints vs Bengals Super Bowl this year? :-D
Chad: It'd be nice, that'd be nice.
Another Chad: What's your favorite car?
Chad: Bugatti Beyron.
Nikk: Where do you roll when you're in South Beach?
Chad: I go to The Forge on Fridays. And on Sundays I go to Club Opium.
Allanahh: Do you hang out with P Diddy and the guys from The Heat?
Chad: I'm with Shaq and D Wade sometimes during off season. I went to playoff games during the off season with P Diddy.
Gary: Do you think you would ever consider coaching?
Chad: Not really. I would rather train than coach
CanJar: You hang out with Shaq & D Wade?
Chad: Yeah.
mike williams: In one word how would you describe how your life has turned out?
Chad: A blessing.
jarhead: How's the attitude of the team after the tough win in Pittsburgh? Will you guys be ready for NE?
Chad: Of course we will. The attitude is still the same. We're excited, can't wait.
SHELLY: What are your plans when football is over??
Chad: I'll be acting in Hollywood somewhere.
Chad: Thanks for chatting. Be sure to check the site for my updated blog and dates for the next chat. Hope to see you guys out at the game. Who dey!
